A private reading journal. Your books, your notes, your pace — nothing leaves your phone.
On your device. Turnleaf has no account, no server and no analytics. Nothing you write is sent to us, because there's nowhere for it to go. The privacy policy has the full picture.
Tap + on Home or in the Library, then type a title or an author. Results come from Open Library. If a book isn't there — small press, a manuscript, a zine — tap Add it by hand and type it in.
On the book's page, tap ⋯ → Find a cover to pick from the jackets Open Library holds for it, or Use the generated cover for the app's own typographic one.
Yes. On a finished book, tap Read Again. The new read keeps its own dates, rating and journal; the first read stays exactly as it was. Both show on the book's timeline.
Tap the Started, Finished or Stopped milestone on the book's timeline to change its date or rating — or remove that read altogether.
On goodreads.com, go to My Books → Import and Export → Export Library and download the CSV. Then in Turnleaf: Settings → Import from Goodreads and choose that file. Your shelves, dates, ratings, reviews and notes come across; books already in your library are skipped.
Settings → Save a backup. That hands a file to your phone's share sheet, so you can save it to a cloud drive or email it to yourself. Restore a backup reads it back and adds only what isn't already there. Worth doing occasionally — nothing is stored online, so a lost phone means a lost journal.
Settings → Export a spreadsheet. One line per book, in the same column layout as a Goodreads export, which most other reading apps can import.
Settings → Appearance. Five schemes, including a pink BookTok look with handwriting and sparkles. Your covers stay the same in every one.
